This is not an infomercial for a magic pill. They don’t work folks. It’s a life style. We’ve talked about getting 150 minutes a week of strenuous exercises. Reread that if need be.
So we preach that you can burn about 20% more calories with Nordic Walking. Is it working? Are you also hitting the gym for resistance exercise? Nordic Walking should take care of your cardio-vascular work (yes, that’s what “Cardio ” means. Pick the pace up.
Weight lifting is also needed. Remember, the more fat you shed via cardio, you will build muscle via with lifting. NOT heavy. Use light weight and do high reps – same effect. You want to take those muscles to “failure.” Pump one after another..until you start to tire. then is when you “make you money.” Don’t quit at the just-getting- tired stage.Press on. You muscles will grow new fibers overnight. Don’t do it 2 days in a row. work other muscles, or go back to cardio (NW.)
Now, you will build muscle, and it weighs more than fat, so don’t count on shrinking down to a 97 pound beach sitter. But you will be in better shape. Who cars what we look like anyway. You exercise for YOU not so others can go Ooooo Ahhhh. They ureally care about themselves. You have to live with you. Exercise let’s you live longer.
Not to brag, but – hey, yes, I’m going to brag. I’ve gone from about 192 to 181 in about 2 months. Gym sessions and NW for 90 minutes three day a week. I do 30 minutes of treadmill jogging, 30 of weights and 30 of stretching. I want my spare tire to shrink. I know that you can’t spot reduce, but you can spot build muscle.
Nordic Walking works your triceps hard, so you should feel muscle growing there. You will NOT shrink your fat unles you lose weight all over. like a balloon going down.
And there you have it.
