How about taking your Nordic Walking poles to a foot race?

There are way more advertised foot races than Nordic Walking events. Like 100 to zero.  How about entering and using your poles!!   Most allow walkers, so git ‘er dun!

You can go at your pace and benefit a lot more than the folks next to you “regular” walking. Conversations will start – like: “Where’s the snow?”  ha ha Gee, first time I heard that. This will give you an opening to tell them about Nordic Walking.

You know – the quick history (found on this website), benefits, yada yada. And NO joint pain – like the runners get.

Hey, you reach that “certain” age and you will have built up some nice crusty arthritis. It’s age appropriate.  Get all the benefit as the runners but no damage.

I trust by now you have met others who share your passion. If you do have a small circle of buddies, all of you could enter. Groups make the time pass fast.

There are also many “Walk for ______”  … fill in a cause.  So lots of people will be just walking.  Get the conversation going. You might end up with even more buddies.
