Unless you are in Minnesota, where they “get it,” and cross country ski a lot, you will have a hard time finding them at your local Sports outfitter. Really. It has not caught on in the USA like in Europe. Euros do tend to lead the USA in fitness.
I guide hikes at Yosemite and trekking poles were unheard of in the 1990’s. I saw some Euros with them..whatzat? They explained how to use them. I now do all hikes with them. Going downhill they take the pressure off your knees. Really.
