NordicWalkingFun.com of Silicon Valley, CA announced that co-founder and speaker, Rick Deutsch, will be on Crystal Cruises Voyage 5310 leaving from Rome to the Greek Isles and on to Istanbul.
Mr Deutsch will be teaching complimentary Nordic Walking classes twice a day to guests. Typically, sea days are left open for guests to enjoy the ports.
Due to demand for early risers, classes are given at 7:30 am to allow passengers a chance to still go on their tour. Crystal has also begun a late start time for some tours. Early returnees can take the 5:00 pm class before dinner.
Nordic Walking – fun at sea
Deutsch introduced the Nordic Walking program to the line in 2009. As a result, thousands have been exposed to the fitness activity. The ship has 10 pair of LEKI p[oles on the Serenity and the Symphony.
The staff Fitness Directors teach passengers most of the year. Deutsch visits each ship once a year to manage the program. On the Rome trip, he will be bringing 5 new Instructor poles with the new speed lock. The marine air and constant use test the LEKI poles.
Crystal’s all-wood Promenade Deck is 1/3 of a mile long and is perfect for Nordic Walking. Sessions are 30 minutes long.
