Nordic Walking makes your doctor happy – do it often

Not a big surprise, but walking is good for you. It’s been studied to death and found to be one of the easiest and convenient ways to get your heart rate up — without any joint issues. Even Dr Oz likes that!

Need proof? The Mayo clinic recently did a study on 2600 people to see how they actually spent their days. Obese women averaged about eleven seconds a day.  Did you see that?… 11 seconds!! Whew – pick me up and throw me down.

“Normal” sized people did 2 1/2 hours a week.  The Feds recommend that amount of aerobics and to also add resistance.

Check these statistics:  In the USA, more than two-thirds (68.8 percent) of adults are considered to be overweight or obese. More than one-third (35.7 percent) of adults are considered to be obese. More than 1 in 20 (6.3 percent) have extreme obesity.

Don’t go there – Nordic Walk!

I’m sure they are loving, caring people. But they are fat. Fat is NOT good. Fat means your heart can’t pump enough blood for many many years.

If you are reading this…you may have goals to up the ante. Nordic Walking for 3-4 times a week (or everyday!) can help keep you slim and trim. Endomorph, mesomorph and ectomorph. Which are you?  Homework – look them up and think about it. Fries be bad – celery be good. Sitting be back, Nordic Walking be good.

Gotta go…..NW is calling, then to the gym to pump some iron.

Carpe Diem
