Yet another use for poles.

While on a camping trip this summer, I arrived at Kings Canyon early enough to set up my one man tent. However, I forgot to pack the tent poles. Duh. What to do? It was quickly getting dark.

Ah Ha! My poles were in the trunk – I keep them there so I always have them handy for a walk. Using some duct tape and my poles, I was able to set up the bivouac.

I attached the foot to the tent to a “bear proof” food storage container. Then the poles were carefully arranged up front with enough room to slide in.

Nordic Walking poles are versatile

It fell a couple times as I experimented, but  finally stayed up. I had to slither in and be careful not to knock it down. I was happy.  It was a long cold night, but my down sleeping bag worked fine and I got some deep Zzzz’s.

Be creative – hey, I wasn’t even a Boy Scout! And yes, Duct tape and WD-40 are lifesavers, too!.

Do your Nordic Walking three times a week and you will melt that fat off those thighs. No, you won’t. Fat doesn’t melt off anything. You can’t spot reduce….it’s gotta be a whole body reduction.

But you CAN spot build muscle. (Bad wording.) You need to get a workout. No lolly-gagging.
