Nordic Walking class beats the rain – Moved one day to escape the deluge

On the Los Gatos Creek trail

Jodie & Laura taking a break from Nordic Walking

My ANWA Nordic Walking Calss last weeekend almost got flooded out with the record rain in the south SF Bay area. We decided to bump the session one day to Sunday. We were rewarded with a nice autumn day in Los Gatos.

The Los Gatos Creek trail was crowded but we were able to get in almost 4-miles of walking! We went through the basics of adjustment, pole familiarization, basic reciprocal gait walking, stride and all the innards of the activity.

Advanced routines capped off the training. We also did a heart rate comparison between just walking and using the poles for the same distance and pace. Eveyone went higher!!  Good!!

We all carried water. Even though it was cool and a bit overcast, we appreciated the water breaks.

A nice lunch at the Purple Onion and then we concluded with a stretching session.

Contact me if you’d like to take the class. The students went from novice to “fully qualified” – more than one may even go on to teach.
