As a Fitness routine, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. OK, you really should go at least 30 mins.

When you first start out, your body will utilize carbohydrates. They provide instant energy. Your body thinks you might be being chased by a saber-tooth tiger. So, run like heck. Well, after 20 minutes or so (it varies by person, sex, age, etc), the body realizes you should have been eaten by now – or you are into endurance mode.

You are now fed fats. That is the goal. Burn off those fats! You really make money in the calorie battle. Any exercise beyond that is pure profit.

Another item is your heart rate. As we talked about earlier, you want to be in the “zone” on your heart pounding. Keep it elevated in the 60-80% rate for the 30+ minutes. The famous ZONE you may have heard about.

Remember, Nordic Walking is NOT an intensity related activity. The key is consistency. Try to get out 3-5 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. Ask your doctor – they love it.
